The Role

We're a remote-first team, distributed across time zones but united by our passion for great engineering, thoughtful design, and building something that truly helps people. As a Junior Backend Engineer, you'll join a tight-knit and experienced group, contribute to core backend systems, and grow through mentorship, ownership, and hands-on product development.

You don't need years of experience—we're looking for someone with strong fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript, curiosity, and a desire to grow. We'll support you with close collaboration, clear expectations, and meaningful work from day one.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to core backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Help build and maintain internal and public APIs that power job search, referrals, and reference workflows
• Work with databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB to design, optimize, and evolve data models
• Integrate Redis for caching, sessions, and job queues
• Use NATS and microservices to develop event-driven features and scalable systems
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product designers to ship end-to-end features
• Improve observability through logging, monitoring, and error tracking tools
• Participate in code reviews, planning sessions, and technical discussions
